A FINE HAMADAN RUG, WEST PERSIA

The field with overall design of stylised polychrome hooked palmettes. In an ivory angular flowering vine border between floral and barber-pole stripes, approx: 200cm. x 148cm. Very nice example for this type with very good overall design, more associated with Senneh type. This rug has full pile very soft and lustrous wool. Selvages original with touches of small rebounding on cord. Ends with original kilim, touches of fraying in one small place. Colours are well balanced. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Attactive and very good furnishing piece.
