A George III provincial sterling silver teaspoon, York 1806 by Prince and Cattles

Old English pattern, engraved initial T, fully marked with rare right facing lion passant. Together with a bright cut engraved salt spoon, York circa 1810 by Robert Cattle and James Barbe, and a Victorian pair of fiddle pattern sugar tons, York circa 1840 by James Barber and William North. (3)

Tongs length – 14.7 cm / 5.75 inches

Weight – 74 grams / 2.35 ozt

The right facing lion passant is thought to be used in York only between 1798-1808 but Martin Gubbins gave the possibility that it may occur later than 1808.
