Eighteen Books of the Secrets of arts and Nature, being the summe and substance of Naturall philosophy, methodically digested. First designed by John Wecker Dr in Physick, and now much augmented and inlarged by Dr. R. Read. A like work never before in the English tongue.
First edition, 2pp blank, verso of second blank with vertical half-title, a2-a4, engraved title, small tears, loss to image at gutter edge, and paper repairs, contemporary annotations to verso, printed title now replaced with early calligraphic title-page, paper repairs to lower corner and upper edge, pp1-342, pp229-238 omitted, lacking 8pp alphabetic table, lacking 1pp adverts, with the last page called for with woodcut tailpiece, first 2 leaves of blanks with numerous contemporary annotations including an ownership name, woodcuts within text, pages slightly browned and soiled, paper repairs to final 2 pp text, modern full polished calf, bookplate to free endpaper, folio, printed for Simon Miller at the Starre in St. Pauls Church-yard, 1660.
