Grant of Arms issued by Henry Farnham Burke, Garter Principal King of Arms and William Henry Weldon, Clarenceux King of Arms", to John Evelyn Ansell, of the Middle Temple, Barrister at Law, manuscript on vellum scroll, foliate initial and illuminated coat of arms (Gules on a saltire Argent between four bezants two swords in saltire proper pommelled and hilted Or) granted to Ansell to top left corner, three further coats of arms at head, hand-coloured and gilt, signed by Burke and Weldon at foot, minor staining, scroll 540 mm wide, with all wax seals, those of the issuers tied to the scroll in brass boxes 80 mm in diameter, also with wax impression of the ring seal, red morocco gilt presentation box, worn, 1919 [with] Ansell's armorial bearing, hand-coloured and gilt, signed by Charles H.
