A cased late 19th / early 20th century Chinese export silver three-piece tea service, Shanghai circa 1900 by Shang retailed by Cum Shing
Qing dynasty, comprising a teapot, a milk jug, a twin handled sugar bowl and a pair of sugar tongs. Each of globular form upon a tapering collet foot, the teapot with a curbed spout and C scroll handle modelled as bamboo, the handle fitted with ivory insulators. The hinged slightly domed lid surmounted by a detachable finial modelled as bamboo. The bodied with embossed decoration of a trailing Chinese dragon, with a vacant circular cartouche. The milk and sugar with a gilt interior. Each marked underneath with artisan mark 尚 (SHANG) and retailer’s mark CS, sugar tongs with artisan mark only. Housed in an original fitted wooden case.
