Illuminated Vellum Leaf

Illuminated vellum leaf, written in Latin, most likely from the 14th Century or early 15th Century, 21 lines of text on the recto and 21 lines of text on the verso, all written in angular Gothic script, features 8 initials painted with gold and 8 painted with blue, the initials are highlighted by stylistic pen work ornamentation in red and blue, mounted and framed, leaf is 18x12.5cm, frame is 31.5x24.3cm.

Potentially from England or northern France, possibly a leaf from a Psalter (Book of Psalms), suggested by the Latin “lauda” meaning praise and “columba” meaning dove.
