Egyptian Royal Interest – A pair of late 19th century Egyptian 900 standard silver dishes, Cairo circa 1900 by Yusuf Zawi
Each of circular form with flared edges with a beaded rim and the exteriors with a die-rolled border of lozenges. The gently domed centres engraved with initials ح ب below the Khedive crown for Khedive Abbas II Helmy Bey (r.1892-1914), edged with a die-rolled band of guilloche. The reverse with engraved scratch weight ١ ٤ ٥ ٢ (1452) and assay scrapes. The front with Ottoman type Tughra makers mark and standard mark ٠ ٩, the reverse with later Egyptian control marks for Cairo 1934. (2)
