An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver milk jug, Kashmir circa 1910
Raj period. Of oval form after a lotus sepal, the C scroll handle formed as a serpent, the exterior with chased in poppy pattern. Gilt interior. Together with another milk jug, Calcutta circa 1910, with wavy rim and embossed with village pattern, and another milk jug, Poona or Bombay circa 1920, convex barrel form with C scroll caryatid handle opposite a ribbed spout, the body with embossed decoration in swami pattern style, of deities in oval cartouches between stylised acanthus leaf borders.
