A late 19th century Egyptian silver covered sugar bowl (sucrier), probably Cairo circa 1880 by Nisan Karanbogosyan

Of inverted baluster form with a moulded rim and foot, applied moulded twin handles. The pull-off domed lid surmounted by a detahcable cast finial of an eagle above a leafy calyx. The body and lid with engraved decoration of bold flowers within strapwork, the front with a vacant oval cartouche. Marked with makers mark and standard mark ۹۰ to the base and lid.

Length – 10.3 cm / 4 inches

Weight – 275 grams / 8.84 ozt
