Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period.
The body painted with a continous scene of birds and butterflies amongst flowering branches growing from rocks, below diaper band on the shoulders, the neck painted around with floral spray below a band of ruyi heads at the rim, 46cm H.
Provenance: J.T. Tai & Co. New York, Sotheby's 22 March 2011. J.T. Tai was based in New York from 1950 until his death in 1992. He sold and influenced many of the greatest American post-war collectors. His stock was dispersed by Sotheby's both in Hong Kong and New York.
