A large late 19th century Japanese silver tea caddy, Yokohama circa 1890
Meiji period. Of ovoid form with a cylindrical pull off lid, with an internal pull-out seal. The body with embossed decoration of iris pattern against a spot hammered ground, the lid similarly decorated. Makers mark only underneath.
