A fine late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver and gold hand mirror, Madras circa 1890
Raj period. Of broadly rectangular form with chased decoration of trailing scrolls and rosettes with Swami pattern of nine embossed and applied gold deities, including the avatars of Vishnu and centred with Kartikeya upon a peacock. The front of handle with a further gold figure below a vacant shield shape cartouche. A bevelled edge mirror plate.
