Born in Singapore, Lim arrived in London in 1954 enrolling first at Saint Martin’s School of Art and later the Slade School of Fine Art where she took inspiration from Constantin Brancusi. She worked mainly in wood and steel in the 1960s, incorporating prints into her artistic practice in the 1970s. In 1979, the first retrospective of Lim’s work was held at the Roundhouse Gallery.
