Associated with the Groupe des Treize, a regional art collective founded in 1912, Meissonnier became known for his evocative depictions of Provençal life—riverbanks, fountains, village streets, and rural scenes featuring towns like Avignon and Martigues. His style reflects a strong connection to the landscapes and daily life of southern France.
