PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG LADY, c.1850. Sixth plate English daguerreotype, in a plain gilt mount with oval aperture, showing a young lady in a chequered dress holding a book on her lap, sat on a sofa, reminiscent of the furnishing in Claudet's studio, housed in maroon leather, side hinged case stamped Young's Photographic Rooms, 15 Buchanan Street.

We suspect that the plate and the case could of been put together at a later point
