Part I only (of 2), 8vo. Engraved allegorical illustration on title. Contemporary boards (spine worn, joints split). Provenance: old annotation on front free endpaper. FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. The concluding advertisement opens with the words: "The second part of this work, which is now in the press ...". This part is not present. With 8 other miscellaneous books including Isaac Abendana's Discours of the Ecclesiastical and Civil Polity of the Jews (London, 1709, calf, second edition), Samuel Stanhope Smith's An Essay on the Causes of the Variety of Complexion and Figure in the Human Species (Edinburgh, 1788, later cloth-backed boards, "New Edition"), Correspondance pour Servir de Suite a l' Histoire Secrette de la Cour de Berlin ("Postdam" [sic], 1789, half morocco), The State of the Representation of England and Wales Delivered to the Society [with 3 other related works] (London, 1793, half calf), George Heneky's A Full and Complete Refutation of the Evidence of Mr. Joseph Fletcher ... Investigating the State of the Police of the Metropolis (London, 1816, contemporary calf, lacks upper cover), Alex J.
