a superbly modelled specimen displayed in three panelled glass case. Trademark Farthing set into effectual groundwork and balanced arrangement of grasswork, characteristic of his work and style. Signed to reverse ‘D.Keningale, Feb 2009’. Highly collected.

The bird was a natural death from a captive breeding program.

The avocet is the emblem for the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).
