TWO POLYCHROME-PAINTED PORCELAIN QALYAN CUPS MADE FOR THE PERSIAN MARKET
PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTION

Comprising two water pipes stem cups, one gilt and overglaze-painted in cobalt blue and red with a floral motif around three commemorative and military oval portraits of Nasir Al-Din Shah Qajar, 15cm high; and another of slightly larger proportions, similarly decorated with commemorative oval portraits of the Qajar Shah, the body overglaze-painted in cobalt blue and heightened in gold with floral blooms and butterflies to the stem, 16cm high.
