A late 19th / early 20th century Chinese export silver three-piece tea service, Canton circa 1900, marked Ye Bo, retailed by Wang Hing
Qing dynasty. Comprising a teapot, a milk jug, and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of compressed circular form, the teapot with a handle modelled as bamboo fitted with ivory insulators, opposite a spout modelled as bamboo, the hinged disc lid surmounted by a detachable finial modelled as bamboo cane with leafy calyx. The milk and sugar with similar handles and gilt interiors. The bodies with cast and applied decoration of flowering prunus, to the teapot additionally with moths and two birds. Each marked underneath with artisan mark 葉伯 (YE BO), numeral 90, and retailer’s mark WH. (3)

A prominent workshop in Canton noted for finely worked figural or scenic tableau, this workshop almost exclusively supplier the Canton retailer Wang Hing and the Shanghai retailer Luen Wo.
