A late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver bowl, probably Poona circa 1900
Raj period. Of rounded circular form, the sides with embossed and chased decoration of various scenes including a deity upon a caparisoned elephant besides a vase filled with ferns, a seated woman with a veena besides a boy, two sword wielding men one upon a bridled horse, three men the central one a Rajput, alongside a group of three women the central figure a princess, all interspersed with palm, rosewood, and cypress trees, against a ring punched ground, between two bands of stylised acanthus leaves. The underside with a plain and concave base.
