An unusual late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver bowl, Lucknow circa 1900
Raj period. Of compressed circular form with convex sides with a wavy rim. The body with chased decoration of various village scenes within oval vignettes to the upper section all below a border of foliate scrolls. The lower section with a band in Calcutta style village pattern, including figures carrying fish, all against a textured ground. The underside with a chased symbol of a bird.
