An early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver standing cup or goblet, Cutch, Bhuj dated 1911 by Oomersi Mawji jnr (active 1890-1930)
Raj period. Of rounded circular form with a wavy rim all upon a circular pedestal foot with compressed knop. The main section with alternating bands of chased symmetrical foliate scrolls and rosettes with fruiting vine. The foot with chased foliate scrolls and rosettes and a band of stylised band of acanthus leaves. The stem sections engraved ‘Joan Mary Millichamp Railton, born June 22nd 1811’ [SIC] over ‘from her great grandmother’. Marked underneath O.M BHUJ incuse.
