A POLKI DIAMOND-ENCRUSTED AND POLYCHROME-ENAMELLED GOLD ARCHER RING
Jaipur, North-Western India, late 18th - first half 19th century

Of typical shape with elongated and cusped flange in the front, encrusted with a variety of Polki diamonds and glass beads on foil, worked in the typically Indian kundan setting in the shape of a rosette with leafy vegetal sprays, resting on a green-enamelled background with some white decorative elements, to the interior a red flower against green ground, the outer edges highlighted in light blue enamel, the palette typical of Jaipur productions in the 18th and 19th centuries, 3.2cm long and 2.5cm diam.
