The light terracotta field with scrolling floral and leafy vine linking bold serrated palmettes around multicoloured floral and leafy open medallion with palmette pendants containing smaller floral and arabesque centrepiece. Soft green and beige spandrels similar. In beige border of bold palmettes and delicate floral vine between serrated palmette and leafy vine stripes. Outer floral meander and plain stripes, approx: 375cm. x 243cm. Great example for this type with very nicely drawn design and very well balanced colours. This carpet has full pile of very soft wool quality and part silk. Touches of very slight discoloration in few tiny places with one or two very light small staining, all barely visible. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Ends with original part pile motif wide kilms and fringes. Selvages also original. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition.Very attractive and very good furnishing piece
