TWO CHINESE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLES.

Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.

Each of flattened globular form, the first carved in a milky stone with two scholars and their assistant under a pine tree, a bat hovering to the side, all picked out in black and russet stone, the second of honey and russet colour, carved with a boy standing on a rocky outcrop guarded by two dogs, a small seal above, both with stoppers, 7.7 - 8.5cm. (4)

Provenance: an English private collection.
