A late 19th century Chinese export silver bowl, Canton circa 1890, marked Qiao Zhen, retailed by Cum Wo of Hong Kong

Qing dynasty. Of hemispherical form with a moulded rim upon a collet foot. The body with pierced and chased decoration of trailing Chinese dragons amidst clouds, centred upon a vacant cartouche formed as the flaming scared pearl. Fitted with a removable clear glass liner. Marked underneath with artisan mark 巧珍 (QIAO ZHEN), and retailer’s mark CW.
