The gently compressed globular body resting on a flattened circular base, rising to a large and wide everted rim, the centre covered with an openwork lid with star-shaped medallions and a rounded gold-damascened pommel, the gold-inlaid decoration around the rim consisting of a series of cusped arabesque cartouches filled with vegetal scrolls against an engraved floral ground, 32.5cm diam. and 13cm high.
