AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY TRAVELLING SET WITH BAROMETER, COMPASS AND THERMOMETER
Circa 1915 - 1930


Comprising a circular gilt-cased barometer with fixed weather scale graduated 23 - 31, each subdivided 1 - 9 and altitude scale graduated 0 - 8000 feet; a mercury barometer with Fahrenheit and Centigrade scales on a rectangular ivory plaque to the right; and a miniature gilt-cased compass with eight-point windrose labelled with direction initials and edgebar needle to the left, all in a drop-shaped brown morocco case lined in green velvet to the interior, with double doors and a space for a resting leg at the back, now missing, the case 9cm x 8cm when closed, the barometer 4.5cm diam.
