A fine Japanese lacquered black persimmon wood whisk holder, Edo period - Meiji era, 19th century

The finely carved whisk holder made from highly prized black persimmon wood (kurokaki), the exterior decorated in takamaki-e depicting grasses and leaves in gold, further adorned with silver dots, together with a Japanese wood box and cover (tomobako)

Dimensions: 9cm high
