FINE KAZAK BORJALU, SOUTH CAUCASUS

The rust-red field with hooked panels and stylised animal figures around three linked hooked and stepped ivory medallions containing similar smaller green and blue panels with hooked and checkered lozenge centrepieces. In hooked panel border between wide running-dog and barber-pole stripes, approx: 7ft.3in. x 4ft.3in.(221cm. x 130cm.) Very good example for this type with well balanced colours and very well drawn design. This rug has good pile, soft and lustrous wool quality. Ends original with kilim and fringes. Selvages original with touches of fraying wool on cord. This rug is dated AH 1347 (1928 AD). In general this rug is in very good conditon conditon. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
