Opaque pigments and gold on paper, the vertical composition a devotional painting honouring the beloved characters of the Ramayana epic, Rama and Sita seated together on a throne in the centre of a lush garden, both haloed and heavily bejewelled, their holiness further enhanced by the golden caparisoned parasols floating above them, Lakshmana standing next to them on the left, also haloed, and Hanuman seated on holding Rama's left foot, on the right two bejewelled attendants, one waving a fly-whisk in the air, the composition set within black and white rules, and ochre, red and green borders, backed on wasli papers with annotations, 35.4cm x 25.4cm.
