A COUPLE'S DOUBLE DAGUERREOTYPE,c.1850s. A pair of nicely hand-coloured sixth plate daguerreotypes, probably American, the gentleman; in seated 3/4 profile, and the lady; wearing a bonnet with hands on her lap and wearing an elegant shawl, seated and in full profile, one small mould spider affecting the latter plate, otherwise very good, in plain gilt mounts with oval aperture, housed in a red maroon leather case with flip-top lid and lower hook and eyelet fastening.
