The present work was attributed to Jean-Georges Berdot by Jean-Claude Boyer in Le beau langage de la nature. L'art du paysage au temps de Mazarin where illustrated (1). It draws stylistic comparison with the painting of Alexander the Great at the Tomb of Achilles, 101 x 157 cm acquired by the Château de Montbéliard's Museum, Montbéliard, acquired in 2010 (Fig. 1).
