AN IMPRESSIVE LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE AND MARBLE NOVELTY DESK CLOCK MODELLED AS A WISHING WELL, part 19th century with later additions, the grey marble well with incised brickwork and surmounted by three acanthus wrapped supports terminating in griffin heads centred by a fruiting finial and supporing the clock movement with white enamelled dial signed 'BURT & ESCARE LONDON', with Roman numerals, the later single train, timepiece movement with platform escapement winding from the back, the well raised on an encrier base with urn shaped inkwells to each corner of the rectangular inkstand fitted with recessed pen trays, on four beaded, toupie feet,

44cm high x 29cm wide x 23cm deep

The timepiece movement is winding and ticking but not fully tested or guaranteed.
