Opaque pigments on paper, the vertical composition portraying a seated lady of power wearing a distinctive orange turban, possibly a portrait of Maharani Jind Kaur, the regent of the Sikh Empire from 1843 until 1846, in front of her an elderly advisor with a white beard, holding his hands together in a sign of respect, set within yellow and red borders, 18.3cm x 12cm.
