A MALAYIR RUG, WEST PERSIA

The blue field with various angular panels, rosettes and angular leafy tendrils around large hooked and serrated camel beige medallion containing small ivory medallion with bold centerpiece. In an ivory border of hooked palmettes and angular vine , between floral meandre and barber-pole stripes. approx. 181cm x 113cm. Very well drawn design, bold appearence. Colours well blended. Apart from small dot-like wear at one side and touches of wear to the pile in the field, barely visble, this rug has full pile. Salvages rebound welldone. Ends with short fringes, slightly fraying. Slight fraying to the guard stripe. In general, good usable condition. Elegant design.
