A late 19th century French 800 standard silver 'castle top' snuff box, Paris circa 1870 by Alfred-Charles Coignet (reg. 18th May 1865 biff. 30th Oct 1889)

Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the hinged lid engraved with a scene of Porte Saint-Denis. Each side edged with engraved rocaille work and foliate scrolls, traces of gilding. Gilt interior. Marked to lid bezel, also with an additional mark of an F.
