Opaque pigments, ink, and gold on cardboard, the lacquered calligraphic panel with a circular medallion inscribed with the name of Omar, the second of the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs (rashidun), set in gold against a black-painted ground, the composition reminiscent of Hagia Sophia monumental roundels, mounted and framed, 40.5cm x 38.5cm including the frame.
The inscription next to the name: May God be pleased with him.
