A George III sterling silver nutmeg grater, London 1790 by Phipps and Robinson
Of elongated octagonal form, with bright cut decoration to the lids in peacock eye pattern edged with herringbone, the sides with a central lozenge band and wriggle work borders. The lid with later engraved initials FN in gothic script in a rectangular cartouche. Ferris grating plate to interior. Fully marked to inside of main lid, part-marks to base lid, lion passant only to body.
