Meiji period.
A slender ovoid form with a slightly ribbed shoulder, worked in gold and silver wire and enamels, with a heron beside a clump of autumn flowers and grass reserved on a midnight-blue ground, the neck and foot decorated with a band of blade-shaped pattern, the seal mark Inaba Company, 12cm H.
A similar vase from the collection of the V&A Museum London, is illustrated in Japanese Cloisonné Enamels, Gregory Irvine.
