Sketches and Incidents of the Siege of Luckknow, FIRST EDITION, frontispiece plate with view of the Baillie Guard Gateway letterpress dedication and descriptive text leaves 23/27 views on 16 tinted lithographed plates, tissue guards, including title page (lacking one leaf, pl. 7-8), all leaves loose, foxing throughout, affecting plates, some tearing, original brown publisher’s cloth, worn, Day & Son, 1858.

*** Mecham joined the 52nd Madras Native Infantry on the 9th of March 1849 at Vellore. The Siege of Lucknow was a prolonged defence of the Residency within the city of Lucknow during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
