FIRST EDITION, engraved coat-of-arms to title and last page (latter repeated on imprimatur leaf and as tailpieces), errata leaf, occasional light staining,19th century ownership note to front pastedown, contemporary vellum boards, joints weak, edges of front board scuffed, ink title to spine, [Blackmer 1710; Atabey 1268], 4to, Paolo Baglioni.

This book is an account of the Turkish-Venetian wars in Crete from 1644 to 1669. Valiero had fought against the Turks himself at the sea-battle off the Dardenelles in 1646. In 1667 he was elected Provveditore Generale of Corfu, Zakynthos and Cephalonia (Blackmer, p.360).
