In 1912, Louis Cartier took the shape of a traditional watch and looking for a new innovative design, he decided to stretch it. The new model culminated in two straight parallel lines enclosed within two curves, reminiscing the shape of a bathtub or baignoire in French. Through the years, the model kept on evolving, adopting its familiar slightly curved oval shape in the late 1950’s and adding Roman and Arabic numerals, bordered by gold gadroons. Our lot is the perfect balance between sophisticated lines and pure style, paying homage to the cult 1958 model which has been following us until now with every new design.

Estimated at £2,500 - £3,000
