A George IV early 19th century unmarked gold seal, circa 1825

Fluted domed form with a reeded edge and a chased central stem. The bloodstone intaglio carved with an impaled coat of arms below a crest of a hemp braye with the motto Broye Non Brise below, in a Roman setting. On a central ring with a George III stirrup seal, open back, bifurcated mount, circa 1810, the carnelian seal intaglio cut with a coat of arms in a shield shape with a crest of a hemp braye below, in a Roman setting.

Bloodstone height – 3.7 cm / 1.55 inches

Gross weight – 22 grams / 0.71 ozt

for Rev William Thomas Bree (1786-1863) of Allesley, who married Helena Maria Boultbee (1796-1866) in 1822

Wlliam was the son of the Rev William Bree (1754-1822) and grandson of Rev Thomas Bree (1716-1778) and Elizabeth Mallory (1755-1826).
