A George III late 18th century collection of unmarked gold seals

Two bell form seals, one with a rosette the seal with an intaglio carved quartered coat of arms with another on an escutcheon of pretence. The other with initials AM in cursive script within a beaded oval cartouche. Together with a swivel seal, with chased mounts, one side with a RHM in cursive script below a crest of a demi-lion rampant, the other side with a coat of arms in a shield shaped cartouche with tied ribbon above. All held by a central ring.

Gross weight – 33 grams / 1.06 ozt

The arms are for Mallory

The other arms are for Malloery quartering Harvey with Mander on an escutcheon of pretence

the intials are for Robert Harvey Mallory (1757-1820) and Ann Mander (1759-1822) who were married in 1797.

Robert Harvey Mallory was the brother-in-law to William Bree (1754-1822) who married Elizabeth Mallory (1755-1826) in 1783. He was the son of Robert Mallory of Leek, Wootton (1724-1759) and Finetta Harvey (b. 1731) who were married in 1752.
