A Victorian mid-19th century unmarked gold combination swivel seal and locket, circa 1860

With an open scroll work mount with faceted ring attachment. The carnelian seal intaglio cut with a coat of arms with a crest above of an arm erect the hand holding an imperial crown, foliate mantling and the motto above Virtuis Gloria Merces, with the body of a chained slave below. The reverse with a hinged locket compartment, the exterior engraved with a cluster of flowers, the interior with two glazed compartments, one containing platted hair work.
