Neolithic Period, Qijia Culture (Circa 2300 - 1500 B.C.E.)

Carved from mottled jade displaying various colourations including russet and black markings, the surface is flat and polished with some signs of corrosion

PROVENANCE:

The Lowenson Collection, formed during the 1930s-1950s by Max Lowenson (1879-1945), a Cardiff businessman born in Latvia;
Thence by descent as stated in a handwritten letter dated 1975;
Property of the Essex Collection of Early Chinese Art, British Private Collection, where some of the collection is now housed in the National Museum of Wales.

此後家族傳承,敘於一1975年信件中;
