A Nicholas I Russian 84 zolotnik (875 standard) parcel-gilt silver and niello beaker (stopka), Moscow 1852 by Alexander Andreev

Of cylindrical form with an everted lip, the body with a central band of niello vignettes of architectural scenes in between strapwork scrolls against a matted ground. Fully marked underneath for assayer Ivan Vasilievich Avdeev (active 1852-65).

Height – 9.2 cm / 3.6 inches

Weight – 125 grams / 4.02 ozt

Mark: Ivanov 144 “silver and goldsmith, owned a home-workshop, mentioned in 1852, address: Rogozhskaya district, 1st Block, 7; mentioned before 1898. Moscow”
