A VERY FINE ISFAHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx' 7ft.8in. x 5ft.(234cm. x 152cm.) The soft light beige field with delicate meandering floral and leafy vine linking multicoloured palmettes around open medallion with similar design. Floral and arabesque spandrels. In polychrome palmettes, floral tendrils and serrated leaf vine between arabesque, floral and plain stripes. This rug  has good pile. Ends and selvages original. Soft wool quality. scattered dot like dirt stains which should improve with light pile cleaning. (subject to professional quote). Very fine weave, approx: 9 x 8 knots per sq. cm. In general this rug ins in very good condition.  Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
