AN EXTREMELY FINE SILK KASHAN RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 7ft. x 5ft.1in.(213cm. x 155cm.) The ivory field with overall design of scrolling arabesques, multicoloured palmettes, scrolling floral and leafy vine together with cloudbands. In beige border of similar design between flowering vine and plain stripes. This rug has full pile, very fine and  soft silk. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Both selvages and end are original. Very good colour combination, soft pastel appearance. In general this rug is in an excellent condition throughout. Very attractive and elegant piece.
